Our taxi service in Chessington covers the area just south of Tolworth along the A243. Chessington is best known for its theme park and zoo, but most of our work here is everyday travel for the people who live in its streets.
Chessington World of Adventures
Chessington World of Adventures Resort, on the Leatherhead Road, brings visitors from all over the south-east, especially in the school holidays. The resort also has its own hotels. If you are visiting, a car from home or from a local station can be easier than the walk from the nearest station. Visitors often arrive at Chessington South station and face a walk to the gate, which is a long way with small children.
We can drop you at the resort and collect you at a time you choose. On busy days, traffic queues build on the A243 near the entrance, so allow extra time, and we will agree a clear pickup point for the end of the day. Families with lots of kit can book a 6 seater taxi. Child seats are available on request.
Two stations, one line
Chessington has two stations, Chessington North and Chessington South, at the end of the branch line through Tolworth to Waterloo. Trains are regular but not as fast as the main line through Surbiton. For early flights, late returns or trips with heavy bags, many people here prefer a car.
Everyday journeys
Much of Chessington is residential, stretching from the A3 at Hook down to the green belt near Leatherhead. Common trips include:
- runs to Hook and Tolworth for shops and services
- Kingston Hospital and GP appointments
- regular school journeys with our school run taxi service
- trips to the garden centres and farm shops on the edge of the area
- airport transfers, especially to Gatwick, which is easy to reach from here

These are typical off-peak times. Theme park days and school traffic can make them longer.
Groups visiting the resort
Birthday parties and school friends often visit the theme park in a group. A 7 seater taxi takes the whole party in one car, with a fixed fare agreed in advance. Book early in the school holidays, when large cars are in high demand.
Staying at the resort hotels
Chessington World of Adventures Resort has its own on-site hotels, and families often stay for two days to see everything. If you are travelling from further afield, we can collect you from Heathrow or Gatwick, or from a London station, and take you to the hotel. Our hotel transfer taxi service is built for this, with meet and greet at the airport.
