Trains from Euston
Avanti West Coast runs fast trains from Euston to Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow and North Wales. London Northwestern Railway serves Milton Keynes, Northampton and Birmingham on slower routes, and London Overground trains run to Watford Junction.
Euston is also the London terminal for the Caledonian Sleeper, which leaves late in the evening for Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness and Fort William. Getting to a late-night sleeper with luggage is exactly the kind of trip where a car helps.
Getting to Euston from Tolworth
The route runs north from Tolworth on the A3, through Wandsworth and across the river, and then through west-central London to the Euston Road. Euston has been surrounded by major building works for the HS2 railway, and access roads and drop-off points around the station have changed several times. For an early meeting in Birmingham or Manchester, many people catch one of the first trains of the day from Euston. From Tolworth, that can mean leaving before the first local trains run. Tips for Euston
Euston is known for announcing platforms late, often only a few minutes before departure, so crowds wait in the concourse and then move all at once. Plan to arrive 20 to 30 minutes early so you are not rushing with luggage.
