A Tolworth to Stansted taxi covers one of the longest airport runs we do. Stansted is on the far side of London in Essex, and from Tolworth by public transport it means a train into Waterloo, the Underground across to Liverpool Street and then the Stansted Express. The route around London
The route most drivers use goes around London rather than through it. From Tolworth the car takes the A3 to junction 10 of the M25, then follows the M25 clockwise past Heathrow and Watford to junction 27, and heads up the M11 to Stansted at junction 8.
It looks like a long way round on the map, but it is usually quicker and more predictable than driving through central London. At night, or when the M25 has problems, the driver may choose a route through London or via the Dartford crossing instead. These are typical estimates. The M25 between junctions 10 and 16 is one of the busiest roads in the country, so please allow extra time.
Leaving time for Stansted flights
Stansted handles many early-morning European flights, and many of them are budget airlines with strict bag-drop and gate cut-off times. For a 6.30am flight you should aim to be at the terminal by about 4.30am, which means leaving Tolworth at around 2.45am. We run 24 hours a day, so that is a normal booking for us. One terminal, one drop-off
